In order to minimize confusion at acting auditions, here are some acting tips to make the process a bit easier.
* Make sure you know how to get to the audition location and try to arrive there 30 minutes prior to the audition.
* Create a relationship with the casting directors and assistants.
*Wear simple, clean clothing that is appropriate for the audition.
*Bring you portfolio and extra copies of your headshot and resume.
* Read your audition scripts them all the way through.
* Always expect the unexpected. If you are given direction during a read, follow it exactly.
*You make a better impression looking up instead of down, so try to memorize as much of the script as you can.
*Read at normal performance volume.
*. Calm down, speak clearly and don't rush your lines.
* Be nice to the assistants, they are tomorrow's casting directors.
* Don’t act desperate or pushy, the director is looking for someone to work with, not to take care of.
*Each audition is an opportunity. You can only get rejected for one part at a time.
* If the directors want you back, they'll call you. Don’t ask when you will find out about the job.
